Simple Morning Routine You Can Stick To!

Do you have a morning routine? I’ll admit, it’s something I’m working on being better about lately. The pandemic kinda threw all routine out the window, to be honest, and I’m sure you may be feeling the same way. But having a routine you love and can stick to can make a big difference not only in reaching your goals, but feeling your best overall. Research shows that people who have a morning routine have lower stress, greater productivity, increased health and better sleep. I don’t know about you, but sign me up for allll of that!

Since it’s just the beginning of a new month, I’m challenging myself to create a new morning routine and seeing how I feel after sticking to it for a full month. I encourage you to join me this month! If you already have a morning routine and it’s working for you, that’s awesome! Feel free to comment on this post and let me know what’s working for you.

For those of us who are struggling with it a little, let’s keep it simple this month and not get too crazy. For me, that means only getting up 30 minutes earlier than usual and adding in one new task. Currently, I feel like I get up, eat, get dressed and leave for work, and that doesn’t leave me a lot of ‘me’ time in my day. I want to feel refreshed and ready to take on the day before I leave the house, and also like I’ve maybe accomplished something already. I’m also wanting to stick to working out in the morning so that it’s taken care of and I have some extra free time when I get home.

Here’s what I plan to try this month:

  • 5:00 AM: Wake-up
  • 5:00- 5:30 AM: Drink my pre-workout/coffee and read my devotional
  • 5:30- 6:15 AM: Workout
  • 6:15- 7:00 AM: Eat breakfast, shower/get ready
  • 7:00- 7:30 AM: Listen to a motivational/educational podcast on my drive to work  **This one is new! I plan to use my drive to work for something to help get my mind going and either learn something new, or listen to something motivational to give me inspiration to conquer my day. I’m currently loving Lori Harder and Carly-Ann Dell right now!

Let me know if you have a morning routine you love, or if you plan to do this mini challenge with me! I can’t wait to see if sticking to a morning routine makes me feel better! We can do it!

Love,

Sarah
