Family Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes
Happy Sunday and the start to a new week (one of the best weeks of the year if you ask me)!
I hope you’re having a relaxing and fun weekend. I know that currently a lot of us are not able to see family and friends on a regular basis and that can be difficult, especially around the holidays.
Thanksgiving in the past always meant spending time with my mom’s family in Pennsylvania as a big group. Over the last few years, my grandma was moved to a nursing home and it honestly just didn’t feel quite the same. Earlier this year, my grandma passed and this will be our first Thanksgiving without her. It seems impossible that she’s no longer here with us, but I have her to thank for my love of this holiday and enjoying good food. I know this year many people have experienced similar losses, and I hope that you are able to look back on the happy memories you may have and look forward to new ones with the loved ones who are still here. I don’t share this for sympathy or to be sad, but I know I am not alone in these feelings.
We have so so much to be thankful for! If you have your health, your loved ones, and can afford to put food on your table, you have abundance. If I have learned anything at all from this year, it’s that the material things mean nothing at all in the end. The quality time you get to spend with other people, putting a smile on a stranger’s face, or giving back to those less fortunate- those are the things we should focus on.
So, whether you are sharing Thanksgiving with friends and family, or are on your own this year, I hope these recipes make you feel at home. From my family to yours!
I hope you have the most wonderful Thanksgiving this year 🙂
I also have the rest of my favorite fall drinks here! These would be perfect for Thanksgiving as well.
